"Choc Full"
Verē chocolate is to the typical candy-rack variety as just-picked fruit is to canned: There’s no comparison. Free of preservatives, verē is derived from arriba cocoa, harvested in the Ecuadorian rainforest. Arriba beans have a full-bodied flavor that requires less sweetening, and they ferment more quickly than most cocoa, enabling them to retain an antioxidant level more than double that of standard dark chocolate, and higher than that of red wine, green tea, blueberries or broccoli. As for taste, suffice it to say that at $6 for two one-ounce chocolate bars, it’s a bargain.
